Time for Church!

This morning we took Katlyn to church for the first time. She was so good! She listened to the music and moved her feet to it a little, slept through most of the sermon, and chewed on her paci and string! Everyone came by to see our pretty little girl and were amazed at how she sat through the service. We aren't ready for the nursery quite yet! We are still paranoid first time parents and can't help it! As long as she can quietly sit with us we will keep her in "big church".

Katlyn is 5 Months Old!

So hard to believe Katlyn is five months old now! She is now playing with toys, laughing and cooing even more, rolling over (she still doesn't like tummy time, but now she can just roll over herself) and even starting to sit up a little!! She is so much fun and we love her so very much! We continue to thank God for her and for the precious moments we are so blessed to have with her!

Thank You, Aunt Debbie!

Last Friday and Monday Katlyn's Great Aunt Debbie took care of her while we were at work! Lu Lu and Pop had gone to Florida for the weekend to celebrate some good friends of ours, The Halderman's, 50th Anniversary. Mom knew this was going to take place way before Katlyn was even born and had arranged for Aunt Debbie to come and take care of Katlyn! We don't just leave her with anyone, so you can see how much we love Aunt Debbie! It was so nice to be able to go to work and know that she was home being spoiled just like when her Lu Lu has her! I think they both had a great time and we are so thankful we have such great people to help spoil our Munchkin! Thanks again and again, Debbie! We love you!

Happy 1st Birthday, Miles!

Today we went to Katlyn's first kiddie birthday party! It was for Miles' 1st birthday and we had a great time! Here are some photos from the party!

Katlyn enjoys watching TV...A LOT!!! She turns her head towards the tv whenever it is on to see what is happening in the world. Her favorite channel seems to be Fox News Channel. Maybe because of the words all over the screen or people like Beck screaming! In this picture she is watching Hannity discuss health care reform. Interesting.....?

Here is a picture of Katlyn on her new horse that her daddy made. She cannot quite rock yet, but will be able to soon! This horse also converts to a desk and into a high chair as you can see in the pictures. I have made three of these horses. Lulu has one and Larue (Tracy's aunt) has one. I know Larue's has been used! Lulu's and this one still have to be put to the test! The horse takes about 12 cumulative hours to make, with the longest part being application of the laquer (sanding and reapplication). The actual construction of the wood only takes about 3.5 hours.

Today was our first day back to work with students and it looks like Matt must have had a long day! You can't blame his sleepiness on Katlyn, because she sleeps all night (knock on wood), so it had to be the kids at school! While I was making dinner Matt and Katlyn apparently decided to take a little nap, so I had to take a picture! I keep telling Matt if he isn't careful a fly is going to land in his mouth one of these days! Sweet moment though! Maybe we will all get used to being back to work by the end of the week!

A Few Favorites!

I thought I would put a few of my favorite recent photos up since I have slacked off on blogging lately! I guess going back to work has slowed Matt and I down a bit! It was so hard to go back to work, but Katlyn and her Lu Lu seem to be having a great time together and I couldn't ask for anything better! We are SO BLESSED!

I love this little outfit! Our friends, Amy and Jon, gave it to her before she was even born and it finally fits! Of course our family enjoys our "Life Is Good" shirts, so I know we will be shopping for more when she starts growing out of this one!

 

So, we were going to start putting Katlyn to sleep in her big bed instead of the bassinet by our bed, BUT! Mommy decided to hold off on that until we were into the whole work routine again! I know, I know....but, here is our little Angel taking a nap in her big bed! She looks so tiny in there!!!
