Katlyn Eats Cereal!

Dr. Goza told us to go ahead and start Katlyn on rice cereal, a fruit, and a veggie, so we started with the cereal! Matt and I both tasted it and it is a good thing she doesn't know any better because we were not impressed!! We used the silver spoon that was mine when I was a baby for the first couple of bites! She sat in her high chair seat her Great Uncle David bought her and it was perfect! Matt and I took turns feeding her and of course, videoed the entire thing! She didn't seem to love or hate it! I can't wait to try some of the other foods. We bought applesauce and sweet potatoes for her to try next! Let the fun begin!!!

"Yes, I think I will try the.....Rice Cereal, please!"

4 Months!!

I know I say it every month, but it is so hard to believe another month has gone by!! Katlyn is even more fun and everyday is even better than the day before! She is doing so many new things now and smiles MOST of the time! Everyone asks if she always smiles and honestly she does smile a lot, but she has her moments!! What can we say? She is a baby and in our opinion...the best one ever!! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this past week!!

Katlyn's 4 month photo!

Katlyn enjoying some time in her bumbo seat! She likes it for a little while, then lets us know she is done!

Katlyn rolled over for the first time Saturday! She doesn't quite know what to do with her hands once her belly and legs are turned over so ends up back on her side again! It was exciting and I think Matt and I watched for her to do it again for at least an hour after that!

A friend from work gave us this exersaucer for Katlyn to use and we are just trying it out with her. She enjoys sitting up in it, although I have blankets rolled up in the seat since she is still so small! Her favorite part seems to be pushing the turtle and duck up and down and hearing it click!

Katlyn at the Doctor

Here is a picture of Katlyn with Mommy at the Doctors office. Katlyn now weighs 12lbs 4 oz. The doctor said that Katlyn can now eat fruits and vegetables. We stopped at Kroger on the way home and bought apple sauce, sweet potatoes, and rice cereal. We haven't given her any of these foods yet, but will keep you posted on how that goes!

Katlyn goes to Doctor for 4 Month Checkup

Today Katlyn had to go to the Doctor for her 4 Month checkup. This is a picture of her before we got there. She got 2 routine immunization shots and had her general checkup which went great. By the time we left she had recovered from the shots, but will probably be sore for a few more hours.

Katlyn's 1st Trip to the Varsity!

Wednesday afternoon we got to go meet some of my cousins, Pam, Steve, Makenzie, and Natalie, at the Varsity! It was Katlyn's first time meeting them and they had come down from Tennessee to the aquarium, coke world, Stone Mountain, etc., so we HAD to make a trip to the Varsity, too! We stayed there visiting late enough to be some of the last to leave the parking lot, but enjoyed the visit! We had to make sure we got some good pictures to remember the trip...Matt even put on a hat for his little munchkin!!! Katlyn really loved the girls holding her and we are looking forward to seeing them again very soon! Too bad they don't live near us...Natalie and Makenzie would make GREAT babysitters!!! Love you guys!

Stone Mountain Laser Show

Last Saturday we went to Stone Mountain with our friends, Lauren, Andy, Lily and Miles, to see the laser show. It had been years since any of us had seen the show and we all enjoyed it! It was amazing how many people were there...possibly half of the state of Georgia?!?! We ended up sitting under some trees because the entire lawn was full. We enjoyed a great picnic before the show, which is definitely the way to go! Katlyn stayed awake for about the first 10 minutes of the show (It started at 9:30) and then woke up to the super loud fireworks at the end! It was a fun evening and we hope to do it again next year when Katlyn will enjoy it even more!

Unfortunately, you can't see the mountain behind us.

This is a picture I love of Katlyn. She seems to know it is time to smile when the camera comes out!

Katlyn's 1st Vacation!!

We took Katlyn to St. George Island for her first vacation! We left Monday morning and stayed in Apilachicola, FL. We enjoyed checking out all the boats and a great dinner (of course, Matt enjoyed the seafood) there. Tuesday morning we woke up and headed to St. George Island! It was beautiful and we had a great time there! We had several friends give us some tips on what to see, do, eat, etc. First thing we hit the beach for a couple of hours. We kept Katlyn in the shade and she seemed to like the sound of the ocean because she kept dozing off! She and Matt looked for shells for a minute and we let her get her feet wet. She wasn't sure about the sand! We enjoyed lunch and an icecream at a place called Aunt Ebby's that several people had told us about. It was a nice break of air condition on the hot day! We visited the National Park there and took several pictures on the beach. I wanted to get some with the sea oats and we found the perfect spot!! It was really nice because we were the only ones out on this part of the beach. It was so clean and the sun was hidden behind some clouds with a nice breeze to top things off! For dinner we ate at a place called The Blue Parrott. It was YUMMY and Katlyn slept a little and watched the birds steal food off tables! After dinner we managed to find a spot to watch the sunset. It was by the water and Katlyn just watched the water come in and go out...she wasn't too interested in the sun! It was a long day, but a great day! This morning we decided to head out and hit at least one more beach before the heat set in too much! We landed at Mexico beach...not as pretty as St. George, but it was still nice to take a break from the drive and Matt enjoyed a morning swim before the long drive home! We had a great vacation and were thankful for our safe trip to and from and for the great time we had together! We look forward to many more family vacations to come!!!

Our Beautiful Beach Baby!

Katlyn smiling and holding on to her dress...it was getting windy! The dress was mine when I was a baby! So glad Mama kept it!

A family photo! We were the only ones on this part of the beach so we had to be creative and hang the camera from a sign! Not too bad!

Sweet feet! Well, I sure do think so! Tiny feet by her Daddy's feet!
