Swimmin' with Lily & Miles!

Thursday afternoon my friend, Lauren, and her two little ones, Miles and Lily, came over to swim! The water was perfect and the sun had already made its way to the other side of the house so we really enjoyed it. Here are a couple of photos of the fun time we had!

3 Months Old!

We can't believe it! Three months has gone by so quickly! Katlyn keeps on growing and her smile is so contagious! Matt and I say she even smiles with her eyes! God has blessed us with such a little angel! Today, she giggled at herself in the mirror. She has started batting at toys and her neck continues to grow stronger. She is so much fun and brings a smile to everyone who meets her!

Happy 1st Father's Day!

Sunday was a great day! What a special holiday to celebrate...Matt's 1st Father's Day! We started off the day giving Matt his cards and presents. Katlyn gave him a "1st Father's Day" card, a Willow Tree new Dad figurine (I know, I am the one who collects them, but it is still very special!!!), a mug with photos of her and one of Matt giving her a sweet kiss, and a onesie for her to wear that says, "Light of Dad's Life!". For the special day, she wore her "Who Needs a Superhero when I have my Dad!" outfit! She sat with Matt while he opened each card and gift. We are so thankful for Matt and for the wonderful Daddy he is to Katlyn...what a blessing he is to both of us! Of course, we took tons of photos and some video so we will always remember the day! We are also so thankful to be able to spend the day with both of our Dads. We enjoyed lunch with Granddad and Aunt Missy and then headed to Pop's to spend some time with him, too! Katlyn got them each special cards. I love all the photos below and it is crazy to think that this time next year our little Katlyn will be talking and walking and add even more fun to a special day! Happy Father's Day to all three of the best Dad's ever!

Katlyn's 1st Swim!

Tuesday afternoon we decided to take Katlyn for her very first swim in the pool! The water was so warm and there were no bugs, so it was perfect for our sweet girl! She seemed to really enjoy the water and looking all around. We got lots of smiles and wish we could have stayed in longer, but didn't want her to get too cold. Matt and I can tell that we definitely have a little waterbug on our hands!

Our Katlyn is growing!

Over the last couple of weeks Matt and I have really been blown away by how quickly Katlyn is growing! It's kind of sad to put her newborn clothes she has grown out of away. She gets cuter and cuter everyday, but we don't want our sweet baby to grow up too quick on us! The following are a few cute pictures of Katlyn! The last makes me laugh just looking at it!

This is one of my favorites! A few nights ago, Matt got Katlyn ready for bed. This is what I saw when I came in the living room and no, those are not supposed to be 3/4 length sleeves on those pajamas! I laughed and told Matt I HAD to take a picture and that I was going to have to buy her a shirt that says, "Don't laugh, my Daddy dressed me!". Matt said he did think it was a little tough zipping her up! Bye bye newborn clothes!!!

 

Aunt Missy's Birthday!

Monday was Aunt Missy's birthday! We celebrated at Mr. Jackson's house with a great lunch, dinner, cake, and icecream! Missy came to visit over the weekend, too, so below are few photos from then and her birthday! We hope you had a very Happy Birthday, Aunt Pretty Missy!

Happy Birthday, Lu Lu!

Last Friday was Mama's birthday. Mom, Katlyn, and I spent the day shopping. We are good at that! That evening we all went to dinner to celebrate. Afterwards, we came back to our house and let Mom open her presents and eat cupcakes. I made strawberry cupcakes for her and tried to make homemade icing, but it didn't work out so well, so I had to ask Mom to bring the icing! Ha Ha! Typical Tracy kind of thing to do...nothing like having the birthday girl bring her own icing! Meredith and I decided to buy Mom and new, smaller digital camera since she had been talking about wanting one. We got Meredith on speaker phone to help us sing Happy Birthday to Mom and while she opened her gifts. It was a fun day and I promise next year to provide the icing, too, Mama! Happy Birthday!

Katlyn's First Wedding...well, reception!

We had a busy weekend! Meredith & Chris and Jeff, Kristy, and Brooks came in town for the weekend. It was great to get to see them and visit. Somehow, I forgot my camera so I don't have any photos from the visit. Saturday night we went to our friend Erica's wedding. It was beautiful and we were so glad we were able to make it! My Mom sat in the car with Katlyn during the wedding. There was no way I would take her in the church and chance her getting upset!! After the wedding we went to the reception and took Katlyn. She was so good! She slept most of the night, even with the super loud music and flashing lights, people moving and talking, etc. We had a great time and it was good to see some old friends. Congratulations Erica and Dave!

A Very Special Visitor!

Last Friday, Katlyn had a very special visitor come to meet her! Avery was our flower girl for our wedding and I have had the pleasure of tutoring her for several years now since she was in my class! While I was still pregnant and wouldn't tell Katlyn's name, Avery decided she would name her "Batchild", which is a character in the Mercer Mayer Little Critter books. I love this little girl and have missed her a ton since Katlyn was born! Avery held Katlyn for a few minutes and did a great job! She was so sweet and talked to Katlyn and made sure she was happy the entire visit! She brought Katlyn a rattle she picked out and it is perfect because Katlyn can hold on to it when we put it in her hand. It was so great to see her and I hope we will get together again before the summer is over! We love you, Avery!

Meeting Mommy's Other Kids!

Last Friday was the last day of school for our students. I had been back to visit once without Katlyn...too many germs in the schools!!...but really wanted my sweet kiddos to meet Katlyn and see the "baby" we had been talking about all year. I also couldn't miss saying bye to some of my students who will be going to Kindergarten next year. It is so hard when you have had some of them since they first turned 3! The kids loved looking at Katlyn and just giggled and would say, "Tracy's baby!". It was great to get to see them, although I missed a couple who had already left to begin their summer, and I know I will keep in touch with the families who are moving up to kindergarten.
I went back to work for the first time on Wednesday and Katlyn stayed with her Lu Lu. It was so hard...yes, I know it was only one day, but I have only been away from Katlyn for about 5 hours since she was born!!! I did good and only called to check on her around lunch time and she was doing great, of course! Her Lu Lu took the last photo of her and as you can see, she is yawning, so I know she had a fun and busy day!

Katlyn Loves her Daddy!

Tuesday was a fun and busy day for Katlyn. We went to lunch with our favorite Mrs. Nancy and Lu Lu and then went to see Daddy at work! I forgot the camera so we didn't get any pictures this time, but will have to go see him again in the fall. Luckily, Matt and some others had found the missing snake before we got there or we wouldn't have stepped foot in the building! He also has a huge Oscar fish that is so ugly it is cute and I know Katlyn will enjoy watching him swim around one day soon! Daddy got to show his baby girl off to his coworkers and Katlyn was happy or sleeping the entire time. Katlyn tracks Matt when he is walking around the house now and smiles when she hears him talking. She really loves her Daddy!
