Sweet Sweet Baby

I thought I would post a few new photos of our sweet baby today. She is sleeping right now..I know, big surprise, but she has been awake since 8:30 this morning and already had fun playing with Mommy & Lu Lu. Now she has a full belly and decided to finally give in to the sleep fairy! We are still working on getting her days and nights straight. She did great last night...sleeping from one in the morning until 5:30 before waking me up. I enjoy my sleep, but waking up to her sweet little face is wonderful, too! So, here is our sleeping beauty!

Katlyn is 1 Month!!

It is so hard to believe that a month has already gone by since our sweet Katlyn was born! It has been quite an adventure so far and we are enjoying every bit of it! It is amazing how much she has already changed and all the little things she is doing. She keeps her little eyes open so much more and loves to look all around. She smiles and coos and seems to find Matt and I quite interesting. She holds her head up and has a strong little neck already. We still think she is absolutely adorable and are still madly in love with her! God continues to bless us with each new day of being a Mommy and Daddy to our precious little Katlyn and we are so thankful!

 

A Visit from Aunt Seester & Uncle Chris

This weekend Meredith and Chris came down for a visit and to celebrate Dad's Birthday! Katlyn and her Aunt Seester got to bond this weekend and we all enjoyed the visit. They got in late Friday night and Katlyn was still up so they got to see her when they first arrived. Saturday, Meredith and I went out to run some errands and then hurried back to get some more "holding time" in with Katlyn. We went out for dinner for Dad's birthday which was Katlyn's first restaurant visit. She slept the entire time and we kept her under cover so people wouldn't/couldn't touch...yes, we are still paranoid new parents! Sunday we enjoyed lunch at my parents' house, Lu Lu and Pops', and enjoyed a little more time with Meredith and Chris before they had to head back to Knoxville. It was a great visit and we hope they will be headed back soon! Katlyn misses them already!

Katlyn's 3 Weeks old!

Today Katlyn is 3 weeks old! Time is flying by and we are still enjoying every second of it! She is growing and changing every day. Matt had to go back to work Monday and we really missed him! Katlyn and I are having to get through the day without him and are soooooo very happy to see him come through the door each afternoon! Monday morning Katlyn slept most of the time. I sent Matt the first photo below at school. She appeared to be on strike from doing anything else but sleeping! The second photo was from today. Katlyn and I ventured out on our first solo outting. I had a doctor appointment, so we got ready all morning long! Lu Lu came and helped us get ready before she had to go back to work and then we were off! Of course, Katlyn slept through the majority of our outting, but that is okay. All the Doctors and Nurses went crazy over her and were glad to see the little angel we had all been waiting on! We got home and I think both of us were ready for another nap! These 3 weeks have been the best!

Katlyn's First Easter

What a beautiful Easter Sunday we had to share with our baby girl! We had a busy day of visiting family and enjoying our precious girl! We started the day out finding baskets for all three of us from the Easter Bunny! We visited with Granddad, Uncle Robby, and Aunt Missy first and then had dinner with Pop and Lu Lu this afternoon. It was a great day and we were so happy to spend Katlyn's first holiday, Easter, with our families. God has truly blessed us and today was a perfect day to reflect on all the wonderful blessings He provides for us! We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

We can't get over how tiny Katlyn is. I love this photo of her Daddy's hand and her little hand. It's hard to believe her fist is the size of one of his fingers! Precious!

Katlyn really enjoyed looking at and listening to Lu Lu tonight. She was wide awake for a change and we thought it was too cute how she was so into what her Lu Lu was saying.

 

Okay, so Katlyn didn't have her picture taken with her Pop today (because he was dirty from working in the garden!), but this was from his Birthday on Friday.

 

First Trip to Granddad's

After Katlyn's photo session we took her to her Granddad's house for the first time! Granddad and Uncle Robby were ready to hold her as soon as we walked through the door. Chevy was also excited to see Katlyn. Katlyn slept like a rock most of the time, which seems to be what she does best. Her Granddad, after reading the post from yesterday, bought her a Gator pacifier. Apparently, she liked it until she realized what was on it and then you can see below what she thought! Granddad and Aunt Missy have a lot of work to do to get Katlyn to like those Gators! By the way, she will never wear Jorts, Uncle Chris! Vickie came by and got to hold her for a bit, too. Katlyn enjoyed her visit until she got hungry! Thanks for the paci, Granddad!

Picture Day!

Today we had an appointment for newborn photographs at a local photographer, Images By Rainy, in Fayetteville. She takes amazing photos that are all around Fayetteville and we couldn't pass up the once in a lifetime newborn shots she does. Well, it was lots of fun and Katlyn did great, although she preferred keeping her eyes closed as usual and we wanted some with her eyes open! After lots of work getting her awake, we finally got some precious photos of her with her eyes open and were so glad, but.....since she had to endure everyone messing with her for so long, she decided to get real comfy and poop all over her Daddy's shirt, pants, the floor, etc. It was something else and I tried to catch/clean it up, but the photographer said to just let it go and kept shooting! Apparently, one of the best wide eyed photos of her is in the middle of all of that! I wouldn't typically post about poopin' and stuff, but it really was hilarious now that we are looking back! I had to take photos of her sweet Daddy who didn't realize how bad it was until we finished and took Katlyn from him. His face was priceless!! Sorry if I offended anyone! I vote for Matt for Daddy of the year just for smiling through all of this!! He loves his little princess!!

Hey, Aunt Seester! Go Dawgs!

Aunt Seester is my (Tracy's) sister, Meredith. These photos are for her and of course, Matt, too since they both are UGA graduates. I am sure Meredith will teach her the whole, "Go Dawgs, Sic em'..." as soon as she possibly can. Poor Uncle Chris will never be able to get any of that Gator nonsense going with her....you either, Aunt Missy and Granddad! Big Day Out!

Today Katlyn, Matt, Mom (Lu Lu) and I went out to run some errands. We took Lu Lu with us to sit in the car with Katlyn since it was such a windy day and the pollen is still high. Katlyn enjoyed sleeping and probably didn't entertain much, but Mom seemed to enjoy just being with Katlyn. Matt and I got everything done we needed to and when we got back home we were all pretty exhausted......except for Katlyn, who decided she was ready to be awake! We were excited to see those little eyes open and are hoping this means a good nights sleep for us tonight!

Saturday Morning

Katlyn is sitting in her swing having a good old time while Matt is drinking coffee and Tracy is resting. Katlyn is adjusting well to life thus far. She eats, sleeps, and potties on a regular basis. Hopefully we will be able to go outside today and get some sun (today is the first time the sun has been out since we have been home). We will just have to see how strong the pollen is. Betsy and Victor don't understand what has happened! Occassionally they probably here a cry from inside the house while they look on through the back window. They did get a big piece of cornbread this morning so were happy about that!

One week old!

Katlyn is over a week old now! Time goes by quickly. She is doing well and growing fast. The doctor told us to keep her sunbathing (to prevent jaundice) and perscribed her eye drops for some gunky stuff in her left eye. Her favorite thing to do so far is sit in her swing (which vibrates and swings and plays music. It allows for her (and for us!) to take breaks. We are about to go for a car ride which she seems to enjoy so much.
