Matt and I have been enjoying being off of work this past week and are looking forward to this week off, too! One of the perks of teaching are these wonderful, much needed, holiday breaks! The other day, Katlyn was busy, busy, and I knew she was due for a nap, but she would not give in for me, Matt, or herself. She got fussy and I mean pretty fussy for Katlyn! Lu-Lu came over and Miss Thing decided she was ready to take a nap! Right after she picked her up, Katlyn put her head over on her and went right off to sleep! We decided she was just waiting for Lu-Lu so she could take her nap. I think they were BOTH missing eachother a little!

9 Month Photos
We had Katlyn's 9 month photos taken and I love every single one of them! Katlyn did a great job especially in the amount of time we had! We usually have about an hour to get all the pictures taken and change clothes, etc, but since every family around was having photos made for Christmas they told us we had 20 minutes! Thank God Katlyn was in a great mood and ready to go! Matt and I had to keep these to ourselves for a few weeks since they were also Christmas gifts!

An Afternoon with Avery!
Many of you remember my sweet Avery! Avery was in my class and then I had the opportunity to tutor her for several years after. She was also my precious little flower girl! I worked with Avery up until Katlyn was born. She always makes my day and I miss her so much! I finally decided I HAD to get my Avery fix, so Mom, Katlyn, and I made a date with her. We went and had a quick dinner before taking her to gymnastics on the last day of school before Christmas. She enjoyed seeing and talking to Katlyn and Katlyn must remember her voice because she was really into Avery, too! Avery originally named Katlyn "Bat Child" while I was still pregnant, but now preciously calls her, "Katlyn Dawn" and I just love to hear her say it! Avery did awesome at her gymnastics and we enjoyed getting to spend some time with her! I hope to do it again soon!

Pretty Girl!
My friend, Ashley, made this super cute little shirt/dress for Katlyn for Christmas when she delivered our stocking she monogrammed for me! She made the little headband, too! Mama (Lu-Lu) made the little tu-tu for Katlyn and we had fun taking her pictures in it, too!

What a pose!

Oh the Things You Can Do....
Lately Katlyn has been doing a ton of pulling up and standing holding on to things. At first we were nervous and running around after her to keep her from getting hurt, but now it is just what she does, so we try to let her do her thing and just pray she doesn't get hurt! She is such a little busy body! Here are some pictures of her when we could catch her on film doing some new stuff!
One of the first times she decided to try to pull up. She was very cautious!
Our little wood chuckette! She is teething on the chair! She pulled right up to get her mouth on the seat!
A view from above!
Standing at the controls of her swing. For awhile she didn't know how to get back down, so she would stand there and eventually end up crying so one of us would come show her how to get back to the floor!

Meeting Santa!
The day after Thanksgiving Matt and I took Katlyn to meet Santa. I had been told Santa would be at Dillards so we went! Believe it or not, there was no wait, no line, and it was so easy! Apparently everyone else was shopping the black Friday deals. Santa was beautiful and super nice, too! Katlyn wasn't quite sure what to think so it wasn't a very long experience no his lap, but she did great and we love the picture we got! Her first picture with Santa will be treasured forever! Oh, and Matt said Katlyn told Santa she wanted some paper to crumble and anything she can put in her mouth! We'll see what she gets!

8 Months...and Crawling!
Katlyn is now 8 months old and decided to mark the day by finally crawling forward! She's been backing up on all fours for a few weeks, but now we are so excited to see her go forward and move ahead! It's so much fun to watch her, but now we are really having to baby proof the house! These 8 months with Katlyn have brought us more joy than we could ever imagine! We love watching her grow...she now weighs about 16 pounds. In case you didn't know...we love this little girl more than life itself! Matt and I are so blessed to have our precious little Katlyn and thank God for her every single day!
8 Months Old! She's getting so big!

Baby Legs!
Who would have thought baby legs could be so precious?? Katlyn's legs are the sweetest little rolls ever and I love these "Baby Legs"! They are to keep her knees from rubbing on the carpet and to keep her warm, too. I just think they are adorable, so you may see her wearing them in many blogs to come!
